Style Q&A: Teil Duncan
PHOTOGRAPHER:

The Holy City painter known for her vibrant beach scenes, figure studies, and flower-crowned girls reveals her personal favorite artist—and more

Q What are you working on?
A
This summer, I’ll debut a collection of hand-painted clutches. I have always wanted to incorporate my art into wearable accessories. It’s nice to take a break from the usual birchwood surface and approach the challenge of translating elements from my paintings into a repeatable pattern.

Q What’s on your summer wish list?
A
Any suit by Marysia Swim!

Q Who’s a fellow artist you admire?
A
I am in love with Sally King Benedict’s work! Her bold and confident marks are intuitive and fresh and can take any room to the next level of sophistication.

Q You’re often on the road with your pro-golfer husband—what are your travel necessities?
A
Definitely SkinCeuticals sunscreen. It’s so light, and it’s the only skin care product that I feel confident using while being in the sun year-round watching golf.

Q Describe your personal style.
A
I go for a structured, clean look. I like interesting necklines and asymmetric hems, and I always add color with a bold accessory or shoe. I absolutely adore anything by Self-Portrait

Q Favorite forms of exercise?
A
Lately, I have been enjoying hot yoga and using the “Sweat with Kayla” app. After we work out, Russ and I love a big breakfast, like an egg scramble with red peppers, spinach, and turkey, plus a smoothie with banana, blueberries, almond milk, almond butter, and chocolate protein powder. We have coffee and do some reading; it’s my favorite part of the day.
