The Party: An elegant affair awaited guests at Harborside East during The McConnell Foundation’s inaugural black-tie gala. With the Ravenel Bridge as a backdop, violinist Seth G performed on the patio, where guests could play prosecco ring toss. Silent auction items ranged from a six-day British Virgin Islands excursion and tickets to The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to local candlemaking workshops and city tours. Specialty cocktails, such as the Palmetto Paloma and Gala Gimlet, were offered, as well as a steak dinner catered by Church & Union. The event raised nearly $45,000 to support the Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital and its research to treat and prevent.
