Family Biz: I grew up helping in the store during school breaks. I loved wrapping presents and thinking about the excitement of the gift for the giver and the receiver. When I told my mom I was interested in joining the business, she suggested that I attend GIA gemology school in New York, the authority on diamonds, gemstones, and pearls. I learned so much and realized I loved the jewelry world even more.
Best Buys: We only purchase pieces we love, and our excitement about them shows. I especially enjoy finding antique jewelry for the store because it’s like a hunt. You go through box after box in hopes of finding a few treasures. When you do, it’s thrilling.
Secret to Success: Croghan’s has been a family-run business for more than a century. I think our longevity stems from our service and culture. Some people walk in and ask if there’s a party going on because everyone is having so much fun.
Fall Trends: Layering, chokers, feathers, and pinky rings!
Must Have: A good gold bracelet—beautiful on its own or stacked with others.
Personal Fave: My diamond bangle bracelet—it was a gift from my grandmother, who always wore stacks of them on her arms. She gave one to each grandchild, and when I wear mine, it’s like I’m carrying her with me. I love the way jewelry is passed through the generations. It’s the stories and personal connections that make my job so special.
